Perdition (2018)

Perdition is a performative midwestern adaptation of the aesthetic created by Southern Gothic literature. It deals with the internal and external struggles of depression and the seemingly fragile threshold of sanity for those trying to cope with mental health disorders of all kinds. Perdition is defined as “a state of eternal punishment and damnation,” and seemed to be a fitting title for this body of work, as it showcases emotions one might think to be felt in Hell. From that of being forsaken and loneliness to despair and hatred, Perdition is a window into a mental state that many never find relief from; while their mental seams feel as if they’re unravelling. Perdition is Hell.
